Other Experience
- Hey there! For more information including more acting and singing demos, hobbies, pics, press, and my all round vibe check out my website www.alixandrakupcik.com :-)
I am also a writer - I write regular articles for lifestyle, fashion, corporate and entertainment brands and outlets. I have also worked in real estate in Sydney, Australia, am in love with old Hollywood, foster kittens ( I walk 15 miles every week in support of shelter animals using the app ResQwalk). I have a cat called Cali who I adopted from the West LA Shelter - she walks on a leash and is a regular at the Chateau Marmont on a Saturday.
Have lived in Sydney, NYC, Prague and now LA. My father escaped communism in Prague in 1969 and arrived in Australia with nothing but a small suitcase and a couple of dollars. He worked hard and is now a self made man - I like to think my work ethic and determination comes from him.
I love food and love to cook. Italian food is my favourite. My Grandmother was a chef so the love and joy for cooking has been passed down.
I have been singing longer than I have been speaking and my favourite songs to sing are those from the classic American Song Book. I rehearse singing everyday at 5pm for 2hours without fail. I am continually growing my repertoire. I feel it also helps with my acting too - creating a character and telling a story.
I love reading anything about Hollywood, movies and Broadway.
When I was a child I was painfully shy till the age of 10 when I walked passed a classroom where they were hosting tryouts for the debate tea. Being an enthusiastic reader I knew I had a debate inside me somewhere! So, I walked into the room, asked if I could audition. The teachers and everyone were shocked because I was the shy girl who did not speak. They allowed me to audition, and long story short - I made the team and never had to audition for the debate team again as it became the best debating team that school had ever had. I also went on to win public speaking comps and Tournament of Minds.
Aside from acting and singing, I owned a production company in Sydney called Suspicious Woman Productions - it focused on strong roles for women and we produced the Sydney premiere of John Patrick Shanleys The Big Funk among other productions. I own and run my own startup too - LA Connect. As victim of domestic violence I am also a huge advocate to end violence against women.
